CANON: Original (Shared with

CANON POINT: An equivalent mid-1920's.
CRAU: None.
OTHER: None!
SUITABILITY: Concord is a hunky unicorn himbo. He'll have some difficulties being in step with the Game 52 set up, as he's not quick to intimacy, which I'm wanting to play into! His more slowburn nature will be a nice change of pace from my other two characters. He will cooperate in order to return home, it just might take him more development than most. He is also in a long lasting situationship with a dragon named Ali, but ICly they do not hold one another to an exclusive agreement with sex nor romance.
HISTORY: Birthed sometime in the 900's, Concord was a unicorn foal under the protection of his mother, Arrow. He was raised in solitude as was typical for his kind, sheltered deep within a natural surrounding he would eventually oversee. Concord's father, a unicorn whose name was lost to time, was known as a cruel spirited creature. Arrow had fled from him to protect her child, raising Concord in secret. When his father discovered Concord's existence, Arrow killed the evil hearted beast she once loved without hesitation. This passed on stewardship of his father's territory to the young foal. Male unicorns were expected to kill their own fathers to come of age, a tradition Concord would never be able to uphold. When Concord was old enough to live on his own, Arrow parted from him, leaving him the sole overseeing unicorn of his lands.
Concord was a unicorn with a gentle heart, but violent temper. He became a target of glory seeking humans, who wished to claim his unicorn's crown. This item rests around the throat of a unicorn and, if gifted to a mortal, bestows a divine right to rule over that unicorn's lands. As Concord's favor could not be bribed nor bartered, men instead challenged him for the crown, seeking their own claim to divine right through merit. The unicorn fought and killed many who sought to overpower him. None could defeat Concord in a direct challenge, so a cowardly king struck Concord during his winter sleep. Brandishing a cursed blade, this forgotten king impaled Concord through the back and pinned him to the stone he slept upon, trapping him. The crown around Concord's neck crumbled to dust when the forgotten king attempted to remove it. His desire for divine right was tainted by his dishonorable deeds. The forgotten king attempted to rule the lands without the divine right, but his country would never escape the winter he plunged into. The turning of seasons would not happen without Concord's stewardship. So, the cruel king had nothing to rule but frozen wasteland, soon perishing to the cold he created. This left Concord trapped for some centuries time, pained and frozen, unable to free himself. He doesn't remember much of this time, being largely unconscious between suffering struggles to escape.
In the 1300's, a good hearted man name Ulrych ventured into Concord's frozen lands. He was sent by Arrow, who had heard of her son's terrible fate. She could not enter the cursed lands herself to rescue him. Ulrych discovered Concord and dispelled the blade, drawing the sword out from Concord and casting it aside. While Concord wished to attack the interloper, injured and panicked as he was, Ulrych calmed him with loving word from Concord's mother. Concord allowed the man to nurse him back to health and Ulrych did so dutifully. When Concord recovered, Ulrych was ready to be on his way. He asked for nothing of Concord and after bidding the unicorn a heartfelt farewell, Concord chased after him. Ulrych was gifted Concord's crown, given the divine right he'd not been seeking, but was well suited for.
Concord served King Ulrych for the rest of the mortal man's life, upholding his dynasty for many centuries after in honor of him. Though Concord was poorly suited to blending in with humans, Concord took a form like them to make an attempt at it. His behavior was always strange and so there was no hiding what he was, an immortal being. All knew the Knight Commander was a unicorn, the country taking pride in the display of harmony between nature and civilization. Concord was an oddity among unicorns for this, but it did not dissuade him. His heart and soul were dedicated to Ulrych and his countrymen. An interesting batch of countryman, including the eccentric Keeper of the Treasury; Aligrezoph... better known as Ali.
While better at hiding his true nature, Ali was also an immortal. One that Ulrych had separately gained the undying loyalty of. The fire dragon was an oddity of his own kind as much as Concord was for a unicorn. They did not bond over this, at first. The two were at odds for several decades time, having distinctly opposing values and priorities. Yet, through conflict they grew to respect one another and eventually rely upon the other in areas of weakness. The complimented one another well, eventually growing to trust one other with what each was best equip to oversee in the kingdom. For Ali, that what the economy and treasure. For Concord, it was the soldiers and justice system.
One odd evening, the tension that had built up between them finally broke. They began a more physical and (reluctantly) emotional relationship.
A relationship that has "lasted" through to a more modern era, that of the 1920's. The two lived through the passing of King Ulrych, something that sealed a tie between them for the rest of their immortal lives. The pair have shepherded their nation through centuries of development, change, and growth through to a modern era. The current year was 1926, a decade after a world spanning conflict, the first grand war of the industrial era. Concord had valiantly led the charge and while he was revered in the country with a great deal of respect, the prosperity that followed made him more and more anxious. He sensed that the cycle of war and peace may be shortening, that another major conflict would be upcoming and quicker than the long fought, but longer won battles of the past.
Many other immortals have perished in the time Ali and Concord have lived. The pair are always just adaptable enough to survive. Other, more inflexible, immortal beings have continually failed to adapt and have died off because of it. The immortal population of the world has drastically thinned since the time of their meeting. Though the pair have fought, separated, and come back together countless times over the centuries, Ali and Concord cannot deny their love for each other. A love so deep that Concord refused not form a life bond with Ali, a process for unicorns that ties a loved one to their soul. If a life mate dies, the unicorn will pass on with them. Likewise, if the unicorn should perish, their life mate will die, as well. Concord would simply not do this to Ali, wishing for him to live on without the unicorn if he should die in battle. Or, by the pollution of the land in modern times. A growing concern for Concord as industry chokes the natural setting of the current incarnation of their shared country; the Commonwealth of Ulrich. Neither of them much care for the modern spelling.
ABILITIES:
Nature Sense: Concord has a sense for understanding nature and place through it. He can understand from touch if something is natural or constructed by mortal industry. The hotel is likely to make him pretty disoriented outside of the areas with some natural elements like plants and animals. He does just fine in population centers, so if he's not wandering lonely halls, Concord should mostly be fine. He cannot sense spirits or if a place is haunted, though he is very sensitive to cold and cursed objects.
Greater Strength/Resilience: He has inhuman amounts of physical strength and stamina, though this will be waned within the hotel. Concord can punch a hole in a very sturdily constructed wall, but not through solid metal. Generally physically fit and very capable at athletic activity.
Quick Healing: Concord's body heals from external damage or injury very quickly. He can't use this on others, only himself.
Speak to Animals/Plants: As an animal which oversees all nature in his domain, Concord can understand and communicate with animals of any variety. This is unspoken and through a magical, mental connection. He can also commune with plants, but they don't really have much to say aside from what their current needs may be. A potted plant will never go unwatered around Concord.
Human Form: In his true form, Concord is a unicorn stallion roughly the size and build of a draft horse. His coat is silver with a gradient into oily black at his tail. He has a long, prehensile tail with a tuft of mane at the end, rather than the mane of a typical horse. In the center of his head is a long, straight horn which cannot be broken by any means physical nor magical.
He can shift this unicorn form into a human form that expresses his identity as he desires. This form is largely subconsciously formed, but he can consciously make change to it as he sees fit. However, his human form is largely very consistent, as Concord is simply not a very creative type. He sees himself a certain way and sticks to it. The only thing he cannot control is the scar from the cursed blade. This will always appear on him regardless of if he wants it to or not.
Concord does generally prefer to be in the human form while around mortals, but can drop it at any time and reveal his true shape. As a unicorn, he can communicate through a magical telepathy, rather than using spoken language. Horse-like vocal cords don't really cooperate with mortal speech patterns.
VICES:
Stubborn: Concord's worst fault, his sheer stubbornness. For a creature supposedly embodying worldly virtue, he is often driven by spite. In his better moments, this is motivated by his principled nature. He will not compromise on what is kind and just, which is very well meaning. More often than that, Concord just being bullheaded. Concord will rage against what he simply doesn't like as often as something that he's making a true stand for. This can make him seem uneven in what he's upholding, as if some hard lines of morality are on the same level as basic disagreements.
Unintelligent: Straight up, he's not a very smart guy. Concord has never been all that clever nor quick witted. He has a capacity to learn and will when necessary, but educational learning isn't his wheelhouse. While highly capable of focusing on what he's interested in and remembering what he's been told, Concord simply refuses to pay mind to what bores him. He'd rather sleep through tedious lectures, something Ali has long had to suffer when trying to relay him economic information about the country.
Naive: Something Concord always presumed he would outgrow, yet never has. His isolated upbringing was typical for a unicorn. His spending the last several centuries around humans was not. Despite all this time socializing and integrating with mortals, Concord still lacks the ability to pick up on ill-intent and manipulation. In general, he believes what he's told, taking information in good faith. This foolishness leads him to be easy to take advantage of for money or favors. Fortunately, his sense of morality means he won't be convinced into misdeeds through mere deception.
Violent: A natural instinct for male unicorns, simple as that. Concord is very quick to get into a fight or lash out if provoked. He very much enjoys fighting and going to war, feeling stagnant and restless in times of peace. What he doesn't stomach is torture and cruelty. Standing up for others is something he'll take any opportunity for, being extremely protective. This is exacerbated when he's intoxicated. Concord is a heavy drinker when distressed or heartbroken.
VIRTUES:
Principled: Quite literally an old soul, Concord is very traditional by his world's standards. He believes in a code of honor and valiance with all actions. A code only he seems to fully grasp. He definitely lacks the intellectualism to express these ideas fully, feeling his virtues more than being able to fully define them. This can come across as confused from time to time, as eras change and Concord is forced to adjust his expectations of righteousness.
Regardless, he believes very truly and passionately in virtues of loyalty, justice, and equity. There are honorable and dishonorable ways about anything and everything. These standards might adjust with the times, but they will always hold together the fabric of his nation as an unwavering set of values. He will stand up for these ideals and fight to the last breath to uphold them.
Compassionate: Concord feels for others very deeply. His stoic demeanor doesn't always get this across. His actions, however, are driven largely by his empathy towards others. He is sensitive to suffering and highly motivated to minimize it. This is one of the few things that can override his stubbornness. An appeal to his compassionate side is always going to be the most effective one to make. This is also why, despite the pollution being caused by the move into the industrial era, Concord is supportive of mortals inventing their way to better living conditions. He wishes for nothing more than the prosperity of those living in the world they all share and he will give his life for that goal if need be.
Dedicated: Loyalty is one of Concord's most consistent traits. Once he is loyal to someone, he is loyal for all time. Ali has tested this most thoroughly throughout their long lives. Though the two have fought and broken away from one another many times, Concord has never done anything to deliberately harm Ali. Never. No matter how angry he is, Ali is someone he loves and could never betray. Because of this, Concord one to forgive, but never forget. Because of his principled and virtuous nature, Concord holds those around him to a high standard and allowing that to slack is something he considers a disrespect. If he loves someones, he wants them to be their best. Someone like Ali, who he is dedicated to to the end of time, will always get held to the highest regard and expectation by Concord. Which is sweet, but can also be insufferable.
SUIT REQUESTS: Firstly, hearts! Concord's compassion and righteousness are neatly encompassed with that suit. However, he has a very stoic exterior and isn't quick to showing his affectionate side. I think the effects of this suit could ease him along easiest to engage with Game 52 more fully. I would like him to be a more slow burn character than my others, but not too slow of a burn. Hearts would light him up and move him along. Also, I don't have a Hearts to play, yet!
Diamond would be my second choice. This man is definitely on the red side of the game. Similar to the reasoning for hearts, this would be good to set him more in the swing of the game. Unicorns don't go through with heats/ruts naturally, but he's used to Ali doing so, which is a fun switch up. He'd be likely to fight this and be miserable for it. This could lead him further into the petrification process than I've yet played, which might be interesting.
RANK REQUESTS: No preference! He could fit in anywhere in the hierarchy. Being either opposite to or in line with Ali would be great, if possible.
